classification and use of sleeves

according to the different uses of sleeves, they can be divided into four categories: plate pasting sleeves, seamless plate printing sleeves, joint sleeves and corrugated roller sleeves

1. plate pasting sleeve

plate pasting sleeve is specially used for mounting and pasting photosensitive resin printing plates. This type of sleeve is easy to assemble and disassemble, easy to store and low cost. According to the different surface materials, the paste sleeve can be divided into hard surface sleeve and soft elastic surface sleeve

(1) hard surface sleeve

hard surface sleeve, such as the blue light sleeve of rotec company. The surface of this sleeve is a hard polymer that has been accurately processed. It is very hard and has the characteristics of high hardness, impact resistance and cutting resistance. It is necessary to mount a printing plate on the sleeve with foam plate adhesive tape. Hard surface sleeve is mainly used for thick plate (1.7mm~7mm) printing. Suitable substrate materials mainly include kraft paper, cardboard, paper bags and soft material boxes, which are not suitable for the printing of high-quality and fine products

(2) soft elastic surface sleeve

the surface material of soft elastic surface sleeve is elastic and compressible polyurethane foam, with good compression performance and a variety of hardness to choose from. The sleeve with appropriate hardness can be adjusted and selected when leaving the factory according to the type of plate and the specific situation of printing material. The soft elastic surface sleeve is specially designed and produced for CTP technology and high-quality thin plate flexographic printing. It requires a thin (0.1mm thick) plate pasting tape with high viscosity to paste the printing plate. The soft elastic surface layer has not only good toughness and high processing accuracy, but also high compressibility and can absorb vibration. Therefore, the combination of soft elastic sleeve and thin plate can print fine highlights with small dot increase rate, which is suitable for the printing of high-quality and fine products, such as bar codes, fine lines, eye patterns, etc., and the printing quality and printing effect are very good

the advantages of soft elastic surface sleeve are mainly shown in the following aspects

① realize the standardization of flexographic printing, and there is no need to have a headache about which tape or pad combination to choose to paste the printing plate

2. Seamless plate sleeve

seamless plate sleeve, also known as sleeve type plate, is a seamless plate carved directly on the sleeve, which is somewhat similar to gravure cylinder. With the development of computer direct plate making technology and laser engraving technology, the application of seamless plate sleeve is becoming more and more common. At present, many domestic flexographic printing manufacturers have used seamless plate sleeve

the seamless printing plate sleeve can complete the printing of continuous pattern patterns or products with the same background color, such as packaging paper, cigarette filter tip tipping paper, wallpaper, etc. In addition, if such seamless plate sleeve is not imaged, the impact energy of the projectile can also dissipate rapidly along the direction of the fiber, which can be used for coating, full plate glazing and printing in the field area

the seamless plate sleeve is mainly composed of inner layer, middle layer and surface layer. The inner material of the sleeve is mainly made of special multilayer glass fiber (GfK), which has the advantages of light weight, low rotation inertia and high bending strength. It can also ensure smooth rotation in the case of high-speed printing. The middle layer of the sleeve is composed of special polyurethane rubber, which has high elasticity and compressibility. The compressibility of the middle layer has a great impact on the structure and performance of the sleeve. It can not only increase the wall thickness of the sleeve, but also absorb the tensile deformation caused by the sleeve. In the printing process, it is the compressibility of the intermediate layer that ensures the smooth operation of the sleeve and good printing quality. 3. adapter sleeve

as the intermediate between the gas support roller and the printing plate sleeve, the main function of the joint sleeve is to increase the diameter of the drum or gas support roller. The joint sleeve also has a compressible layer, like the air support roll, with air inflation holes. The printing machine is connected with two air pumps, one of which inflates the air support roll, and the other inflates the joint sleeve. Therefore, it is not necessary to remove the joint sleeve from the air support roll when replacing the sleeve

4. corrugated roller sleeve

corrugated roller sleeve was produced about seven or eight years ago, slightly later than the printing plate sleeve, and was widely known in the past two years. the inner layer of most corrugated roller sleeves is made of compressible materials. Using the compressibility of the inner layer, the corrugated roller sleeve can be installed and fixed on the bearing of the printing machine. This compressible inner layer is controlled by air. The intermediate layer of the corrugated roller sleeve is made of composite materials, such as glass fiber or carbon fiber. The surface of the corrugated roller sleeve is covered with a shell sheath composed of metal aluminum or metal nickel.
